Connect with the Black Employee Network
Amazon has multiple affinity groups, which bring Amazon employees together across businesses and locations around the world. The mission of Amazon’s Black Employee Network (BEN) is to recruit, retain, and empower Black employees. BEN connects members with mentors and provides career and personal development workshops so our associates can continue to grow.
Meet MJ, a successful Amazon Associate
MJ started her career at Amazon after she moved from France in 2019. Despite facing the challenges of the pandemic as well as a language barrier, MJ resonated well with Amazon’s hiring process and started as a Warehouse Associate.
By reading lips and using translation technology, she was able to enhance her English skills and was eventually able to join the PxT Team as an HR Partner. She has been successful ensuring that her team has the necessary resources to complete their work as well as providing support to senior leaders.
MJ has an amazing ability to speak five languages, due to her curiosity and genuine interest in understanding diverse cultures. She also recognizes the positive influence of Black culture, instilling in her the strength to appreciate every small achievement in her life. She shares her experience in the hope that it helps others to achieve their goals.
